Tickets are still available for sale, but before attending the games it’s important to know that the Conditions of Entry list many prohibited items. Luckily, organizers have provided an option for people with food allergies and dietary restrictions to eat safely while enjoying the Pan Am and Parapan Am games. You can pack your own food. For the general public, outside food or beverages are not allowed in the Pan Am venues, but exceptions are made for baby formula, baby food and single-serving portions for those with dietary restrictions.
Heather Irwin, Media Relations for Pan/Parapan American Games, provided more detailed information for the benefit of spectators with food allergies.
Will spectators with food allergies attempting to bring their own food or snacks into the venue be required to show medical documentation of their allergies?
Spectators with food allergies won’t be required to show medical documentation to bring in their own snacks.
Is there a concession list by venue?
Existing venues (for example Pan Am Ceremonies Venue) will have similar menus that they use for regular events, which can be found on their website. Temporary venues do not have concession lists posted online.
Are there any allergy-friendly concessions available for purchase? (ie: nut-free, dairy-free, egg-free, gluten-free?)
We do not guarantee any 100% nut free zones and venues will have varied options as part of their menu offerings. But, like most sporting venues, we are not able to guarantee all meal restrictions or special requests will be satisfied.
